Photographs from Rockmont Envelope Company Collage, between 1910-1960
Two photographs that were part of a collage or scrapbook of the Rockmont Envelope Company. The smaller photograph depicts an unidentified worker standing next to a piece of machinery. The larger photograph is of the exterior of the Rockmont Envelope Company. The company was started in Denver, Colorado in 1919 by Carl L. Tucker and Willett R. Lake.

Charles Schayer seated for a head and shoulders portrait. Schayer arrived in Denver in 1865 by covered wagon. Schayer operated a wholesale cigar and liquor business and acted as lay rabbi until an ordained rabbi arrived in Denver.

David M. Hyman wearing a suit and shirt collar, and pince-nez glasses. The Bavarian-born lawyer David Hyman became a major investor in mining properties there and helped establish the town in 1880. One of Aspen's main streets was named Hyman Avenue in his honor.

In the early 1900s, Jesse Shwayder opened a small luggage factor in Denver with his father, Isaac, and brothers Mark, Maurice, Benjamin, and Solomon. Together they turned it into one of the largest luggage producers in America, the Samsonite Corporation.
