Greater New York Conference on Soviet Jewry, 1968-1978
Materials related to the Greater New York Conference on Soviet Jewry. The Greater New York Conference on Soviet Jewry (GNYCSJ) was formed in 1971 by the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies and the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York, to address the need for an organization that would be devoted exclusively to the problems of Soviet Jewry.
Half the Sky Fair Records
This collection contains records related to the "Half the Sky Fair," traditionally held yearly at the University of Denver during the Women's Conference, also held at the University of Denver. Currently, the collection holds two banners displayed during the Fair.

Series 3 consists of documentation on lectures given by Yourgrau. Included are copies of speeches, correspondence with the sponsoring group, transcripts of radio broadcasts, and information on symposiums and congresses in which he participated.
Martin M. Weitz Papers
In 1977 Dr. Weitz (1907-1992) was the coordinator and guiding force for a Congress on Science and Ethics held at the University of Denver. The Congress brought together participants from science, religion and medicine to discuss relavant topics. The Martin M. Weitz papers document that Congress.

Jewish federations and community relations councils in the U.S. came together in 1971 reorganize the American Jewish Conference on Soviet Jewry, to be renamed the National Conference on Soviet Jewry. A separate New York City entity is also approved, leading to the creation of the Greater New York Conferene on Soviet Jewry.
