Inter-University High Altitude Labs (IUHAL) Records

Abstract The Inter-University High Altitude Labs (IUHAL) at Mount Evans (1935-1990) and Echo Lake (1948-1990) and were used for the study of cosmic rays. Seven universities including the University of Denver, Cornell, MIT, and Syracuse University collaborated under IUHAL. The labs remained under use by the University of Denver's (DU) Department of Physics and Astronomy until 1990, when they transferred to use under the Biology and Natural Sciences Departments at DU. Abstract The Intermountain Jewish News (IJN) is a weekly newspaper serving the Denver-Boulder communities and the greater Rocky Mountain Jewish community (Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Utah, and Montana). The newspaper was founded in 1913 and had a series of editors before being taken over by Robert Gamzey and Max Goldberg in 1943. International Choreographed Ballroom Dance Association Records

The International Choreographed Ballroom Dance Association was started as the National Round Dance Board of Review in 1976-1977, became the Universal Round Dance Council in 1977, and changed to its current name in late 2007. The collection primarily consists of official newsletters and convention syllabi from 1979-2012, plus organizing correspondence from 1976-1979, official convention recordings from 2004-2005, and some ephemera.

Abstract Irene Miller (Mrs. Azriel) Stein was a professional artist well into her 90s. She was the daughter of Anna and Robert Lazar Miller, both pioneers of Denver's Jewish community. In 1921 she married Azriel Stein, a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvaina native and they had a son Stanley. Isidor Bronfin, M.D. Papers

Abstract Isidor D. Bronfin was born in 1886 in Russia and migrated to the United States in 1902. He earned a medical degree from the University of the State of New York in 1911--the same year that he became a U.S. citizen. Bronfin was a noted authority on tuberculosis treatment and authored several publications on the topic.
