Container 17: Howe House Materials, 1983-1992

 File — Folder: M010.0017
Identifier: M010.04.0017

Abstract

Container 16 is a folder with the blueprints and history of 2201 South Fillmore St, Observatory Park. The house was first built in 1891 for Herbert A Howe and his family, so that he could live close to the Chamberlin Observatory. While uncomfirmed, it's assumed the house was designed by Robert S Roeschlaub. In 1920, the Howe family sold the house to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Haines, another family connected to the University of Denver. The Haines owned the house until 1983, when it was sold to McCain family, who restored it in 1985.

The folder contains the 1983 blueprints, a copy of the floorplan, a 1992 open house invitation, and a realtor's description of the home and families and their ties to the University.
