Abstract This reel contains a lecture given by Allen Breck at the University of Denver in October of 1965. The topic of the discussion is the renaissance and philosophers of the 14th, 15th, and 16th century. Breck discusses five (5) types of philosophers from those centuries--Renaissance Humanists, Platonists of the Renaissance, Aristatillians, Philosophers of Nature, and Political Scientists. Abstract Born in Denver, Allen Dupont Breck graduated from the University of Denver in 1936 and served in World War II. He was a professor of history at DU from 1946 to 1996, during which time he was chair of the history department and wrote the official history of the university.
