Abstract

Letter from Superintendent M.D. to I. Blum. M.D. tells Blum that his records show that Jennie Batchofsky was admitted to JCRS on December 15, 1911 and died on March 25, 1912. M.D. tells Blum that it would be impossible to find out the cost to erect a head stone for Jennie’s grave but if Blum sends sufficient funds, JCRS would take care of the matter.

Abstract Letter from Mr. Affeld to C.D. Spivak. Affeld tells Spivak that he called Schnoor’s son-in-law to his office and read him Spivak’s previous letter. Schnoor’s son convinced Affeld that his family has absolutely no money to pay for the funeral expenses. The boy included an extra $10.00 to help pay for expenses, but Schnoor’s family cannot contribute any more. Affeld tells Spivak that Spivak previously asked for an unpaid amount of $23.26 from Schnoor’s children, but they offered $20.00 and then another $10.00 later and said that was all they could afford to give. Affeld tells Spivak that he has not heard from him and would like to know what is going on with the situation of the tombstone the kids want erected over their father’s grave.
