Abstract Caroline "Carrie" Shevelson Benjamin was born in Russia in 1841 and died in New York in 1931. She had returned to New York from Denver, Colorado, around the turn of the century. Her family immigrated to the United States and settled in New York. Caroline Shevelson graduated from Syracuse University in 1881. After she married Maurice C.
