Abstract

A Native American Group Performance at the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS). The JCRS was a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients that was founded in 1904 by a group of immigrant Jewish workingmen along with the support of several leading physicians and rabbis in Denver, Colorado. It was located on West Colfax Avenue just outside Denver.

Abstract

A navy blue circular plastic ''straw'' hat that was meant to be worn on the back of the crown of the head. Four plaid taffeta bows in blue, navy, red and yellow surround three-quarters of the brim. The inside of the hat has plum colored grosgrain ribbon and black plasticized ''horsehair'' for pinning the hat to the head. The interior label reads: ''Milgrim.''
