The high school was begun in 1875 and a building was constructed on Stout street between 19th and 20th streets in Denver, Colorado. This gregor was used at the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society during the holiday of Purim. The wood blocks are swung around the handle with a wood gear and produces loud clicks. The noisemaker was used to drown out the name of evil Haman during the reading of the story of Esther.

Abstract

Orinsky Nirvana Segis, a Grand Champion Cow part of the dairy herd at the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS). The JCRS was a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients that was founded in 1904 by a group of immigrant Jewish workingmen along with the support of several leading physicians and rabbis in Denver, Colorado. It was located on West Colfax Avenue just outside Denver.
