Abstract Helen Bonfils built the Bonfils Theatre, on East Colfax Avenue at Elizabeth Street, Denver, Colorado, in 1953. The theatre was built to try to preserve live theater in a time when Hollywood Films were taking over the entertainment industry. In 1985 the theatre was renamed the Lowenstein Theatre and was then closed in 1986 by its umbrella organization, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The scrapbook contains programs and playbills from all the theater, dance, and music productions that the Beck family attended from 1933 through 1945 in Denver, New York and other cities. Many of the performances were Arthur M. Oberfelder concert series.
