Bernice Cooke Laverty Papers
Bernice Cooke Laverty was born in Calfornia in 1904. She served as the University of Denver Lamont School of Music's speech teacher for a number of years. This collection contains programs and photographs from various plays and musicals directed by Laverty as well as correspondence, musical scores, songbooks, scripts and teacher's guides.
Bernstein Family Papers
Samuel and Heloise Bernstein moved from New York before their only child, Leonard, was born in Denver. Samuel worked in retail clothing. Leonard worked for Denver and Rio Grande RR for over 50 years. Most of the documents center around Heloise, Samuel and Leonard. Collection contains marriage announcements and certificates, death certificates, military certificates, postcards, photographs, and scrapbooks related to the Bernstein family from 1893 through 1966.

Bertha ''Mickey'' Marks (second from left), with fellow patients of the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS) sit on a car next to the Main Building on the JCRS campus. The JCRS was a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients that was founded in 1904 by a group of immigrant Jewish workingmen along with the support of several leading physicians and rabbis in Denver, Colorado. It was located on West Colfax Avenue just outside Denver.
