Abstract General Rose Memorial Hospital was founded in 1945. The hospital was named for General Maurice Rose, a Denver native, who had been killed in action the same year. General Rose was the highest ranking American officer killed in action in Europe and also the highest ranking Jewish officer in the Army. Scope and Contents From the Series:

Series 2 consists of subject files related to Wallace’s work as executive director of Wallace Village. The files include such topics as administrative files, development, history, technique manuals, publications, speeches, staff training, and self studies regarding the school. Also included are materials related to Henry A. Winters, an early benefactor of the Wallace School.
