Born in Montreal, Quebec, Donald McIntosh was a lieutenant in the US Army who was killed at the Battle of Little Big Horn in Montana in 1876. Daniel G. Magnussen was a retired military officer, historian, and professor at Stout State University (now University of Wisconsin-Stout). Magnussen transcribed McIntosh's notebook, which he had kept from 1872 until his death in 1876.

File contains transcript of Russell Porter's Play "Early Dawn" with the name "Williamson" written at the top of the the cover. 49 pages. Notations have been added in pencil and pen concerning musical timing for the chorus sequences.
