Abstract

Formal portrait of Mr. Satuloff, one of the first patients of the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS). Mr. Satuloff died while being treated at the JCRS. The JCRS was a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients that was founded in 1904 by a group of immigrant Jewish workingmen along with the support of several leading physicians and rabbis in Denver, Colorado. The sanatorium was located on West Colfax Avenue just outside of Denver.

The poultry farm of the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS). An unidentified man in overalls is standing on the right, feeding a flock of chickens. The JCRS was a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients that was founded in 1904 by a group of immigrant Jewish workingmen along with the support of several leading physicians and rabbis in Denver, Colorado. The poultry farm of the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS). In 1924 the poultry farm moved to the Rudi Home, which served as an annex to the JCRS until there was room at the campus.
