Abstract

Cast of a play written by the Bookbinding Department of the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS). Dr. Charles Spivak is pictured close to the center of the photograph. The JCRS was a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients that was founded in 1904 by a group of immigrant Jewish workingmen along with the support of several leading physicians and rabbis in Denver, Colorado.

Abstract R. Russell Porter (1908-1995) served as Head of the University Theater and Chairman of the School of Communication Arts at the University of Denver from 1964 to 1976. In addition to his teaching and administrative functions, Porter wrote, directed, and produced plays, operas and radio dramas. He also acted in plays and radio dramas. Abstract

Recording of a skit performed at the West Side Reunion on July 15, 1979 and oral histories conducted at the event with individuals who grew up on the West Side, reminisces of block parties and neighborhood activities in the 1950s and 1960s. Interviewees discuss the relationship between the West Side and the East Side Jewish communities.
