Jane Russo is the great-granddaughter of Charles and Jenny Charsky Spivak. Jane Russo was born in Denver in 1946 to Nelson and Ruth Strauss Oppenheim in 1946. Ruth Strauss was the daughter of Herman and Deena Spivak Strauss and Deena was the daughter Dr. Charles and Jenny Charsky Spivak. This collection contains the personal papers of Janine Gastineau, a dance critic. The collection in large part is made up of newspaper clippings of articles written by Gastineau and informational packets on various dance troupes and companies. Also included in the collection is research performed by Gastineau and her co-author Frank Ferguson for a book on Vera-Ellen, a famous musical actress from the 1950s. This book was apparently never completed.
