Biographical / Historical
MUSE awards recognize outstanding achievement in Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAM) media. The international Alliance Media and Technology Professional Network’s annual awards are presented to institutions or independent producers who use digital media to enhance the GLAM experience and engage audiences. The MUSE awards celebrate scholarship, community, innovation, creativity, education and inclusiveness.
Projects must be produced by or for a GLAM, and may include websites, podcasts, multimedia installations, games, interactive kiosks, apps and much more. Review the MUSE Award category descriptions and the criteria for judging entries for more details. Winning projects for each category are chosen by an international group of GLAM technology professionals and the awards presented at the Annual Meeting and Museum Expo. Each category awards four levels of award: Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Honorable Mention. A special jury prize, The Jim Blackaby Memorial Award, is optionally granted to an entry selected for its overall achievement as a media or technology-focused museum program. All winners receive a beautiful award plaque and are listed in perpetuity on the Media and Technology MUSE Awards list of past winners. (aam-us.org)
