Abstract
Box 1 contains religious objects as donated by Michael Saliman: 1. Two tan & blue prayer shawls with Hebrew writing along edges and in center; 2. One prayer shawl bag - black velvet with gold thread embroidery, Star of David design in center; 3. One purple velvet Tifillin bag with gold & silver thread embroidery (Hebrew writing and Star of David) - bag contains 4. One Tifillin (phylactery) for the Head and one Tifillin for the Hand; 5. One early (1820s) ivory and silver amulet - engravings in Hebrew in the ivory layer. Items 1 - 4 belonged to Michael Saliman (1852 - 1910); Item 5 was purchased by Michael Saliman in Israel.
