Test Ban Treaty announcement before WASHO, Denver, 1963 September 17
Abstract
Senator Peter H. Dominick (R-Colo.) delivers a speech about the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty to attendees of the 42nd annual conference of the Western Association of State Highway Officials (WASHO) at the Denver Hilton in Denver, Colorado, on September 17, 1963. Sen. Dominick discusses numerous aspects of the treaty including its intended purpose, terms and history as well as some reasons for the development of the treaty such as limiting the proliferation of nuclear weapons and reducing radiation levels. He also announces that he will vote for the treaty's ratification in Congress to prevent it from being used as a propaganda tool by the Soviet Union even though he says there are more reasons to reject than accept the treaty.
