Abstract
Sen. Dominick (R-Colo.) stands underneath a large banner that says [F]or the people. The banner is hung on some curtains in the Colonial Ballroom of the St. Francis Hotel, San Francisco, California. A sign attached to the head table says 1964 Republican Platform and there is a round logo behind the senator that says GOParty 1964. The Platform Committee of the 1964 Republican National Convention conducted hearings on the party's platform at the St. Francis hotel during the week prior to the start of the convention on July 13. Sen. Dominick served on the executive committee of the Platform Committee. Seated at the head table from left to right are Representative Charles E. Goodell (R-N.Y.) who was responsible for compiling information on domestic policy for the drafting committee of the platform, an unidentified man and Representative Melvin R. Laird (R-Wisc.), who was Chairman of the Platform Committee, also known as the Committee on Resolutions.
