Inscription and Marks
Typed in black ink and attached to image: 'few are the Colorado hostelries that can rival the teller House in legend and in fact. Built in 1872, 13 years after gold was discovered in Central City, at a cost of $107,000 was 'le grade hotel,' fitting inn for 'the richest square mile on earth.' The parlors on the hotel's second floor are excellant examples of it's mid-Victorian opulence.'
