D'Oyly Carte's Opera Company 'H.M.S. Pinafore', 1955-1968
Abstract
Photograph of a program from a London performance of 'H.M.S Pinafore' put on by children in the early 80's. Program reads, "Opera Comique, Licensed by the lord Chamberlain to Mr. Barker, 299, Strand, Morning performance, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and saturday mornings. In each week, until further noticem commencing at 2:30. The Childrens Pinafore, being a representation of Messrs. Gilbert and Sullivan popular Opera of H.M.S. Pinafore, the characters impersonated entirely by children. After which and entirely new and original drawing-room entertainment written by George Grossmith, Jun., entitled. 'A Juvenile Party" in which Mr. Grossmith, junr. will appear. Reduced prices, evening performances every evening at 7:45, cups and saucers. after whihc , at 8:30 H.M.S. Pinafore characteers by the orginal company to conclude with after all. prices as usual."
