Abstract

Mrs. Noonan discusses changes that have taken place in the University Park area of Denver, Colorado, since her move to the area in 1940 including housing development and transportation services. Noonan mentions that her children, a boy and a girl, attended University Park Elementary School and that she was active in the University Park Parent Teacher Association, serving as the secretary and the president of the association.

The series consists of 50 oral histories collected by Barry Matchett during 1986. The interviewees were all persons who lived in the University Park neighborhood, and concerned their memories of growing up and living in the neighborhood over a number of years.

Title supplied by cataloger. ||Interview conducted at 3535 E. Iliff St., Denver, Colorado on May 29, 1986. ||Participants: Unidentified female interviewer ; Mrs. Noonan. ||Mary A. Noonan (1905-2001) moved to the University Park area of Denver, Colorado, with her husband Jim and their two children, a boy and a girl, in September 1940. Noonan was Secretary and President of the University Park Parent Teacher Association. She and her husband were proprietors of a bookstore in downtown Denver that specialized in medical and technical books.
