Herbert A. Howe 1907 Diary, 1907
Abstract
Professor Howe's diary for 1907 recounts his brief weather and astronomical observations, administrative and teaching activities at the University of Denver, entertainment of visitors to the Chamberlin Observatory, participation in events in University Park and elsewhere in Denver, as well as his family and religious life. Special mention includes: Chancellor Buchtel's inauguration as Governor of Colorado on January 8; an outbreak of smallpox; Howe's work as acting Chancellor and book reviewer for the student newspaper, The Dial; and repairs to the Observatory dome.
