Biographical / Historical
Roberta Thornsberry grew up in Denver and began dancing at age 5. She began her training with Clare Denny at Elitch Gardens in the summer and at the Republic Building's dance studio. After attending North High School, Roberta moved to Hollywood to begin a career in motion picture and dance. She soon returned to Denver and began teaching at the downtown YMCA and then in the Park Hill neighborhood. In 1956, she began teaching in her home and in 1958, she opened a studio, the Little Theatre Cultural Center.
