World War I Victory Ribbon
Abstract
There are five metal stars across the crimped material on the top. The colors of the material are from left to right: purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. There is pin fastener on the reverse side. The primary colors fade into each other, forming the secondary colors. The companion Victory Medal was established by the U.S. Congress in 1919 and awarded to members of the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps for active service between April 6, 1917 and November 11, 1918 (Armistice Day). An American, Army Colonel Thomas Bentley Mott, is credited with the ribbon design.
