State Reserve Officers Convention, 1940 May 18
Abstract
Corporal D. F. Cavey and Sergeant C. B. Martin stand to the left and Bradbury B. Morse and Lieutenant Colonel E. M. Silverberg to the right of a 75 mm gun in the lobby of the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Denver, Colorado. They were attending a State Reserve Officers Convention at the hotel.

Scope and Contents
The collection contains materials intentionally assembled by the Ira M. and Peryle Hayutin Beck Memorial Archives of Jews in the Rocky Mountain region. The bulk of the photographs are from or related to various towns in Colorado, but the collection also contains photographs from other states in the western United States and other countries. There are some 19th century photograph types represented in the collection, including albumen prints, daguerrotypes, tintypes, post cards, colorized prints, cabinet cards, and cartes-de-visite.

Inscription and Marks
Handwritten on front of photograph: ''Brad Morse, Cosmopolitan Hotel State Res. Officers Convention, 1940.'' Typed on back of photograph: ''Cosmopolitan Hotel is prepared; No chance of Blitzkreig warfare here. This 75 MM Gun of the 168th Field Artillery met the eye of all those who entered the Cosmopolitan Hotel last Saturday. This modern war machine was placed in the lobby by members of the Reserve Officers of the Rocky Mountain Region at their annual convention and banquet in the Silver Glade. Lieutenant Colonel E. M. Silverberg in charge of the convention, and Bradbury B. Morse, General Manager of the Cosmopolitan Hotel, are shown at the right of the Gun; Corporal D. F. Cavey and Sergeant C. B. Martin are on the left. The Cosmopolitan Hotel does believe in preparedness.''
