Mountain Picnic, 1906
Abstract
Two men and a woman are sitting on a log picnicking outside in the mountains. The woman has on a large hat. Milton Louis Anfenger, wearing a vest, is sitting holding a glass in his hand. The photograph is on page 78 of Milton Anfenger's scrapbook. It is said that Congregation Emanuel in Denver, Colorado was founded at the bris or circumcision ceremony of Milton Anfenger, the eldest son of Louis and Louise Anfenger. Milton Anfenger became a successful attorney and leader in Denver. He was a president and lifetime board member of National Jewish Hospital and wrote a book about its early history. Anfenger was active in state politics and was elected to the Colorado state senate in 1904.
