Torah Crowns, 1945
Abstract
KeterTorah (Crowns of Torah) with 14 bells each and ''In memory of patients at the sanitarium'' in Yiddish etched on the crown. At the top is an eagle atop a crown with eight bells. There are four bells at two additional levels hanging from zoomorphic animals. The Torah is associated with crowns to emphasize the respect due to it, as if it were royalty. The bells to announce that the Torah scroll is being taken out of or returned to the Holy Ark.

Scope and Contents
This series includes religious, medical, printing, administrative, trophies, and other types of objects used at the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society. Examples of objects are Torah scrolls, embroidered towels made by a patient, a Hebrew Corona typewriter, printing cases and type, and a chess trophy.

Title supplied by archivist from inventory list. The measurements are 40.5 centimeters high, 16 centimeters wide at largest point, and 12 centimeters diameter of the base.
Inscription and Marks
Each Torah crown has ''1945'' and ''In memory of patients of sanitarium'' in Yiddish etched on the base.
