Box 49: Large Format Negatives, bulk: 1950 - 1960
Abstract
Box 49 contains approximately 700 negatives from Marketing and Communications circa 1950. The negatives are organized into thirteen (13) file folders, each containing 20 sheets of negatives, except for two folders which contain less than 20 as one folder was the end of the collection and the other contained different sized negatives. The negatives appear to be stock photos for general use. The subject matter on the negatives includes: DU Athletics (track and field, football, women's intercollegiate rifle association, basketball, male gymnastics, tennis, golfing, archery, swimming and diving, skiing and ski jumping, cheerleaders, and hockey), DU buildings and spaces (Mary Reed, Zeta Phi Eta Room, University of Denver Arena, inside the library), ROTC awards, Derby Day Celebrations, 1950 DU factsheets, pictures of preparations and beginning of cosmic ray studies atop Mt. Evans done by the Department of Physics high altitude studies, faculty photos, residential housing, graduations, nuns and priests, theater dressing room, electrical engineering, music performance, KFEL Studio, square dancing, dentistry, an art exhibit/gallery, and miscellaneous other student photos.
