Record Transcription Project - 1950, 1950
Abstract
This file contains correspondence concering the Record Transcription project between Central City Business Manager, Donald V. Stophlet, and Fox Inter-Mountain Amusement Corp. Assistant to the president, Robert W. Selig. Transcription project includes: '1. the figures for producing a central City record are prohibited. It would cost us $1461.00 to produce 5000 records with a potential sale value of $3750.00 or a net profit of $2289.00, which figure does not include talent costs or costs of sales. The record would be a dated item and it is my recommendation that we not pursue this any further at this time. 2. i have given Mr. Etheredge an alternative assignment of investigating the possibility of putting standard 'Manam Butterfly' and 'Don Pasquale' albums on sale in Central City as a tie-in with the operas. He will investigate costs on this and give us the breakdown. these albums, sold on a consignment basis, would constitute a safe investiment with a moderate degree of profit and we would not be left holding a dead inventory of dated records, such as we hold in the case of our literature.'
