Box 7: Notebooks, Less Annotated, 1989 - 1996
Abstract
Approx. 43 notebooks, containing a few pages with autograph annotations or a few leaves of autograph manuscripts. Often, the labelling of these notebooks indicates the start of a book project, which may have been pursued elsewhere, or was written and then removed from the notebook for further drafting (the slimness of certain notebooks suggests this practice). The labelling itself is evocative—an orange notebook, undated and empty except for inside cover, states: “It was a time when everything went wrong.”
