Abstract
Dr. Douglas Macomber, the son of a Colorado pioneer, reflects on his childhood in Denver including his school days, circus parades in Denver, Decoration Day celebrations (now known as Memorial Day), and his memories of Denver in the 1910s and 1920s. Recalls the building of the Daniels & Fisher Tower (D&F Tower). Describes the "Great White Way," the brilliantly lit buildings of theaters including the Princess, the Iris, the Paris, and the Empress theaters. Macomber recalls the blizzard in 1913 in Denver. Finally Macomber reflects on his career as a physician.
