Abstract
Ms. Turner was born in Shepard, Texas in 1906. She moved to Flagstaff in 1926 and attended the Arizona State Teachers College and received her teaching certificate. She was married in Holbrook, became the secretary to the assistant director of the transportation department. She also talks about life during WWII, teaching experiences, and pioneers. Other topics discussed include: living in Holbrook, Gallup, and Grand Canyon; celebrity visits to the Grand Canyon; social life; the first diesel to the Grand Canyon; and personal stories.
