Abstract
Blommel, secretary to the former Superintendent of Education, Mrs. Sarah Folsum, relates her experience of working with Mrs. Folsum from 1965 to her death in 1969. Blommel touches on numerous aspects of Mrs. Folsum's character as well as the following topics relating to her career in the politics of education: her support of minority, adult and elementary education; her political leanings and her non-involvement with the John Birch Society; her change of heart on receiving federal aid; the election campaign of 1964; her rapport with the legislature, with the School Board and with Skipper Dick's administration; her ideals and educational philosphy.
