Abstract
Richmond discusses the life and experience of Mrs Vera Grossman Black in living around the Grand Canyon Railway, arriving at the Grand Canyon with her father, who was a conductor for the Santa Fe. She at an early stage in her life taught elementary school at some of the lumber camps along the railroad. She did not enjoy teaching so she returned to work at Babbitt's. She discusses for the most part logging and the people who she knew at the time including the Verkamps, Ellsworths, Kolbs and Spencers.
