Abstract
Oscar Ray Forbes taught Native American students for twenty years prior to retirement in 1974. Interviewed by Phillip Reed Rulon, Associate Professor of History, Northern Arizona University, on February 10, 1977. Topics discussed in the interview include; family and educational background in Norfolk, Virginia; employment history with the Cree-Chipawaa Tribes in Montana; description of the Sangry Day School; descriptions of several other boarding school teaching jobs with Native Americans; comments on bi-cultural education; discussion of Red Power on the Navajo Reservation; and an evaluation of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
