Charles Monderer

Biography

Charles Monderer was born in Kavec, Austria (Poland) in May, 1902 and came to the United States in 1921. He contracted tuberculosis in New York and was admitted to two New York sanatoriums. He sought treatment in Denver and was admitted to the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society in 1928 and 1934. He had trained as a pharmacist at Fordham University. After his recovery, he worked at Tobin's Drug Store. Although he later changed professions and became a sucessful insurance broker in Pueblo, for many years Charles generously tutored pharmacy students for their license exams. He married Isabel Ganetsky on May 23, 1937 in Denver. She was born in Poland, immigrated to Winipeg, Canada, and then settled in Denver. One of their daughters, Elaine Monderer, married Max Appel and they founded the very successful Orange Glo International. Charles Monderer died in Pueblo in 1976 and Isabel
