Biography

Rev. Sam J. (Yoina) Rosenbloom (May 27, 1910 - July 14, 1982) was a lifelong Torah scholar, a schochet, and the executive director of Rose Hill Cemetery in Denver. He was active in local and national Jewish educational institutions.Rosenbloom was a native of Poland, and moved to denver in 1924 at the age of 14. He was a graduate of West High School. He and his wife Sylvia were married for 50 years. While Sam lived in Denver, Sioux City, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska, he was a ritual schochet. When he retired, he became Executive Director of Rose Hill Cemetery Association. He founded the original Yeshiva in Denver and helped arrange the building for Yeshiva Toras Chaim. He supported Hillel Academy, Beth Jacob High School, and various other institutions. He was survived by his wife Sylvia, daughters Ruchel and Leibe, son Jerry, and five grandchildren.
