Soule, Silas Stillman

Biography
Soule was present at the Sand Creek Massacre on November 29, 1864. He refused an order of his commander, Colonel John Chivington, to fire on defenseless Indians, primarily old men, women, and young children. Capt. Soule later testified against Colonel Chivington for the atrocities committed by him and his troops.
