Biography

The Berry family came from New York City with sons Morris (d. 1973), Harry I. (d. 1952, and Nathan "Nat" Berry (1898-1954). When their mother died, Harry needed to find a home for himself and his younger brother Nathan. Harry's girlfriend, Hannah Shwayder (1895-1986), invited the two Berry brothers to live in the large Shwayder house at 637 Gallepago. Hannah Shwayder and Harry Berry were soon married. Nathan Berry was working in the Kobey shoe store where he met Dorothy "Dokes" Kobey (1905-2009), Hannah Shwayder Berry's cousin.
