Father did not want him to work as a bracero, finally paid for a "coyote" to get his contract in Empalme, Sonora; waited for one month there and got help from an officer to finally get contracted; he picked apricots, peas, lettuce; remembers humilliating spraying with pesticides, naked in from of the female secretaries while signing contract.
Oral History Interview with Virginia Rigg
Life of Rigg, Alma Rigg, Alma died in 1966 -- Flew when she was 99 years old and flew the route from San Franciso to LA that she had originally taken in stage coach. Children were Gertrude, Leland, Harrison, Virginia.
