Beck Archives' Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society Collection

Abstract

Dr. Jeanne Abrams of the Rocky Mountain Jewish Historical Society of the Center for Judaic Studies collected materials of the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society separate from the JCRS Records. Collection contains a draft of "The Origins of Denver's JCRS" by Dr. Charles Spivak, newspaper articles, issues of patients' magazine Hatikvah, contribution forms, "Thirty Years of Saving Lives" history of JCRS sanitorium, JCRS programs and pamphlets and, books related JCRS from 1900 through 1982.

Ben Gray Lumpkin Papers

Abstract

Ben Lumpkin (1901-1982) was a professor at the University of Colorado and a member of the Colorado Folklore Society. He did extensive research on the history of the Folklore Society and published an article about it entitled: "The Colorado Folklore Society." The article appeared in the Journal of American Folklore in the January-March 1969 issue.

Ben Hoffman B'nai B'rith Gold Star

Benjamin Hoffman was killed in 1943 in the U.S. Navy. His brother Harry received permission to erect a headstone in Golden Hill Cemetery in 1949. Collection contains one framed gold star certificate related to Ben Hoffman from 1945.
